April 29, 2012

I cant remember the purpose and why we did this climb. I guess friends wanted to try what its like — a reason for a get together. They didn't wanna go far and they wanted a considerably easy trail. So they decided to take on Mt. Batulao and Talamitam. I guess being able to reach Pulag's peak, I am no stranger to climbing mountains so I joined them!

I brought with me my cute pink Diana Mini. This time I switched the settings to 24x17 for half frame shots. It produces tall photos — which got me really irritated after I saw the processed photos. At times, I tilt the camera 45 degrees to get a rectangular landscape photo.

Mt Batulao

Its that mountain you see when you're in Tagaytay. The jump off starts at the Evercrest Golf Course in Nasugbu. It takes 2-4 hours depending on your phase to reach the summit. On top, there's a sari-sari store that sells Mountain Dew —it's not a protected area. The cool breze and the beautiful view when you reach the summit is what makes this an appealing destination.

Mt Talamitam

The jump off starts at the Sitio Bayabasan, Brgy. Aga, Nasugbu. They call it ‘younger sister’ of Mt. Batulao. It is considered as a minor climb about 2-3 hours to reach the peak. The steep trail can make you sweaty and thirsty so be sure to bring water.

I really enjoyed my climb — specially when you're with your friends. It's not like we get to see eachother all the time. We all have busy lives now. We can't even schedule a coffee, let a alone climb a mountain. I will cherrish this experience and look forward for more adventures — even if its just once a year.
